South African Airways (SAA) was recently again voted as Best Airline Africa 2010 and this year was also the winner of the category Staff Service Excellence Africa in the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The awards were presented at the 11th Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany on 20th May 2010. The highly respected World Airline Awards by Skytrax were presented to winning airlines at an informal awards ceremony by CEO Skytrax, Edward Plaisted. The 2010 World Airline Awards has over 20 categories and the winners are selected by the airline industry’s most important audience - its customers. More than 17,9 million passengers, representing 100 different nationalities took part in completing Skytrax’s World Airline Survey, which was conducted over a ten month period (July 2009 to April 2010). The awards are recognized around the world, and are renowned for being the only true global, independent passenger survey of airline standards.
